As far as I know drugs will not be included in this or any future release of planeshift.

I have never taken any hard drugs. Within the past couple years the only drug I\'ve taken is caffeine, and I that\'s only when I\'m really thirsty and there\'s nothing else around.  I don\'t drink coffee and the only softdrinks I like are the Sprite-type drinks, most of which are caffiene-free.  I also don\'t take any kind of medicine, even when I have a splitting headache. I think My immune system is much stronger and I have more energy because of it.  As for drugs in PS, I\'m sure there wouldn\'t be any that do nothing. They would probably be like in Fallout where they heal you quickly or enhance a certain attribute immensely while decreesing others for a short time.  These would probably be very useful, but have a chance of addicting or damaging your avatar or permanently lowering attributes.  An addicted player could constantly take damage if the drug has not been taken recently, and the addiction would slowly fade over time.  By the way, beer is a drug, so if there are in fact no drugs in planeshift, Kada-El and the other barkeeps won\'t make much money.

Although they may not be medically addictive people still can live to depend on them. I hear people talking about smoking b.ong when they have a bad day or just feel in the mood, and then they\'ll have days where they need dr.ugs but can\'t get any and will act like any addicted person.

I\'ve seen how stupid people act when they\'re high. I don\'t need dr.ugs, I\'m high on life. I\'m hooked on phonics. I do aspirin man. heheh

The last thing I sniffed was fortune cookie on a dare.

I personally don\'t drink/smoke/do drugs, but i have no problem with people smoking a joint every now and then.  I think pot is better than cigs/booze, but then, I AM from BC... :) Anyways, drugs in the game would detract from the whole game, with the exception of a good tankard of mead, because, let\'s face it, post battle carousing is a must for many adventurers.

I\'m using at least one drug all the day ... the one i\'m sitting in front of :-P If you look at the meaning of drugs differently, even \"power\" is a drug (and too often many dead civilians are the result :( ) I think thats one of the worst drugs ever!

Drugs in game: I played Neocron Beta4 for some time (Shadowrun like world) where you could count drugs as one of the game \"basics\". They gave you some offsets to skills and attributes and as long as you keep the drug(s) flowing you are fine. But if you stop this flow you get seriously wasted, starting from wandering randomly around if you want to walk/run to having a screen filled with more or less \"TV-noise\". Imagine you fight some strong mobs and your drugs wear off ...

Anyway, drugs have to fit the game scenario, in case of Neocron they fit very well. Many fantasy games have \"drugs\", too, although they are not counted as that (temporary stat changing potions ARE drugs). Let the game designers decide :)
