The drivers shipped with e.g. Windows XP often do not support OpenGL. You will need to install current drivers from your manufacturer.

And besides NVidia and ATI cards, only few are powerful enough. Especially onboard intel chips in notebooks rarely are.

Buy one :) newegg.com is a good place to search, with great prices. Get a card with 128MB of memory (if not 256) and you'll be set. The more the better of course, but you can find 128MB cards for around $50.

if it's a desktop it could have agp to so hrm a pci-x in agp plugg... good luck
