Let us know what kind of card you have as well :] I assume you understand the instructions for finding this information. Once you know your card type, go to the manufacturer's website and download the most recent drivers. They are free updates.

For NVidia, visit www.nvidia.com
For ATI, visit www.ati.com
For anything else, use www.Google.com to find the correct manufacturer address.

Helping two people at the same time is confusing ;)

To the guy who said -relight crashed his PS; that is normal.
It will start to relight at the point where it loads the map, you see the blue loading bar move and then when it freezes it starts to relight the map.
Sometimes the PS window will become completely blank and it will seem that it crashed. It hasn't however. Just be patient as it can take really long depending on the size of the map and your pc.

What I always do:
Go to the map that needs relighting while NOT using -relight in the shortcut.
Log out.
Add -relight to the shortcut.
Start Planeshift and log-in.
Wait for relighting to complete (can take long)
Shutdown Planeshift
Remove -relight from shortcut.
Log-in again to have a freshly relighted map.

To the guy who had an Intel Intergrated Graphics card:
That's not even a real graphics card, buy a real one for 50$, it'll spare you tons of issues now and in the future.

To the same guy that still hasn't posted his pc specs:
As was said 3 times already use Start-->Run-->dxdiag.
Post the stuff that's under System and Video (something like that, use your imagination)
Read the threads that Rolenun and Karyuu linked to for more info.

Yeah, its the graphics card.  I have that same card on my pc at work.  But I don't play there much because...well...its work and I'm not supposed to.   :-[  So since its not really my pc, I have no choice.  But yeah, for anyone who has that card and that problem, I don't think even the latest drivers will fix it.  I've done that but its still that way.  Your only hope is to get a better card.

Again, you can try adjusting the settings of Planeshift and downloading the latest drivers.

Unfortunately, unless you have at least 64MB on a video card / chipset, you're not meeting the minimum requirements for the game. Integrated graphics chipsets fall into this "below minimum" category.

how do i set the planeshift options..and what should i change?
In your Start menu: -->Programs-->Planeshift Crystal Blue-->Planeshift Setup.
You can try lowering the resolution, disabling VBO, set antialiasing and anisotropic filtering to 0 and you can disable multisampling. You can downsample the textures too, but that will look ugly.

Bittorrent doesn't use fast servers, instead you're downloading from tons of people's pc's at the same time. If it's slow that means either your modem/firewall is blocking the connections (bittorrent is sensitive to that) or that simply not much people are uploading at the moment.

It's possible your pc is so bad, it gets overheated and the fail-safe shuts it down. I had it too on my old pc.

...why do you think it worked befor?..omg what did i do?now its not missing pannles..instead its darker then normal..but with no missing pannles..it getts dark where i move..but not as dark when i was missing pannles..navigating is so much easier!..strange..

I'd try running with --fullbright instead of --relight.  See if that clears things up - there will be no shadows no ambient light, etc but it will help debug.  My guess though is that that card of yours doesn't like opengl that much and a newer version of planeshift uses some new opengl features that the old one didn't .  Specifically libCG stuff.  I'd run in fullbright, and if that doesn't work consider a new card.  Your card isn't much good for alot of things anyways. :D
