And a note on the death thing. since when did death ever hold any real meaning not in this game surely and the point is not death  but haveing a good time in game. both guilds agreed they would rather enjoy killing each other and since we are the ones  "dying" we get the spoils

This game has a meaning for death.  you die, you go to the DR.  It's stated in the settings as such.  This is a role playing game.  To play the game properly, you role play in accordance to the settings.  The settings state that only a very minute can ever escape the DR.  Geting killed, then reappearing to kill again in the land of living is breaking the very setting players are supposed to adhere to.

I can see comming back after a bug gets you (becuase an ooc type death doesn't exist to your character, hense they never died IC), but not when it is a RP related death (such as a war).  That's why I say death is treated poorly amoungst the general populace of players right now.  Just becuase the game mechanics aren't there to keep your character in the DR (becuase that would be a nightmare at this point in developement with all the false ooc deaths that happen if it did), doesn't mean you can break the settings when your character dies an IC death.

But please, enjoy your war for your fun. A game should be fun afterall, defeats the whole purpose of it being a game if it isn't fun.

the setting of the game allows for a return for the death realm. We have all been new to the world. and wonderdered in vain through the dr. some times for hours, and I did. Everyone has their first trip to the dr burned in their memories. Once the dr has been traversed our characters have gained wisdom, they can then find their way out. The setting is a bit vegue on the point of the DR and its difficulity to escape, and as such is left open for inturpretation. We have allowences in this regard, and thus it can be debated. Therefore in skermishes there really isn't any point in undertaking such a debate when the goal for the player is fun, so long as those involved, either waring party, do not see a conflict in rp then it isnt a conflict as those concerned have the same perspective. The final battle will have special rules and is a one time only deal.  Returning from the realm of death is indeed Part of the game setting. It is indeed part of the existance of our characters. Once a character has learned the way out, they can exit unless there is an rp reason to prevent their escape. I personally spent time in the dr rping that fact, it was a bit boreing but it made rp sence. It is an issue of personnal perspective and inturpretation of the setting. To say that one is not Rping properly on a point so open to intruperation, I am not sure is a fair or just statement. On this particular point. I personally do not understand the logic of becomming too upset when one "dies" in game. there is only the fear they will forget their way out and get lost. Unless of course their soul enters the death realm without a body. There have been RP's that have used both situations to rp the death from which they could not escape.
If one where to go with the afore mentioned premise that it is a one time only deal when comming back from a battle, then this is true as well from falling, or being killed, or anyother multiple reasons our characters die in game. Are we to delete our characters to RP properly their death when being killed by an ulber. Do we log off for the rest of the day? Perhapps a week?  Of course not that dose not make sence. Perhapps it is the notion or War and characters fighting that brings about the notion that it should be a special circumstance. However war would also be in keeping with the setting of the game. The environment  we are placed in, is by its nature violent. Or characters live in a brutle world, where one is forced to kill. If one does not kill they can not gain the necessary tools to grow. Killing, dying and respawning are facts in the lives of our characters. That is the game setting. That is the overall rp of the game. To treat Death as significant unless by special circumstance, in my opinon would be bad rp.  I have my opinion Others have their own.
If the issue is about fairness, then have no fear. It has been stated by BOTH guilds that we respect each other occly. There will be fairness. In the end the War will not be won by death count THAT would be bad RP, because death is meaningless in the lives of our characters.

If everyone is having fun in this war then it is being played correctly (my opinion of course). I personally think this has been a good war so far. We have both taken and held territories as we have wanted. I know this war is going to have a start - middle - end. I am sure the leaders in both guild will or have already decided how to handle each part of the war by creating rules of combat and death that we all abide by. Either way agree or disagree this has been a fun war for me!
