Halloween must be near

The ghosties and goblins are around about causing much mayhem. Tempers are being frazzled, things are getting blown out of proportion. Will we survive the next few days? I recommend that all who read this message stop and look for the gremlins before acting in a fashion that will be regretted come next week! Post here if you discover any of the beasties in game or on the forum! Our only hope is to shine the light of truth in their eyes and force them back to whatever place they come from.

Wait there goes one now ------>

Sorry, no goblins in PS. There are gobbles though. Little different. Oh and  >o) rats. I don't think ghosts exist either, unless we can see ethreal images of others in seperate "planes" of existance. Other than that, nothing remotely Halloweenish in PS.

Tales of such things as small malicious spirits are common to most societies on earth so there is no reason to expect that there are no folk tales of such things amongst the races of planeshift. Whatever their look and name is not terribly important but perhaps if we use our imaginations we can develop some race specific spooks that could be incorporated in folklore even if not in "real" form. From a Kran perspective one such thing  might be "the Kalcinator" a small intelligent fluidic creature that hangs on stalactites waiting for its prey to pass underneath. It falls on its prey and denatures the minerals of the skin of the unfortunate Kran so that it hardens into immobility. Normal sized ones might only have the ability to stiffen a small patch of skin, a hand, a knee etc., but there could be tales of a lake sized conglomeration of many of them. Passing the affected area through fire might be the standard means of ridding oneself of the parasite as evaporation would kill it.
