I've noticed that many fall into that trap, they build a mental picture of what that person may look like based upon what they know then the shock of realisation can work both ways... your ether react as:

OMG...  - And run away screaming... or:

  - And your heart is stolen lol.

And then of course you get those *cadoras cough cough* who become obsessed and fixated on another.
