Cool classes are made even better by cool instructors - my 3D modeling instructor worked on the latest Silent Hill game :]

Kickass. 'Course, I've never had the nerve to play Silent Hill. I have a hard enough time with horror movies without having to actually deal with a nightmarish monster. (I'm that kind of gamer who panics and starts blasting his friends whenever he hears funny noises... :P)

So what do you actually do in a 3D modelling course?
The closest thing I've ever done was a summer course on 'Game Theory'. Though that didn't actually have much to do with video games at all...

Our final is a fully modeled character of our choice, so we'll be learning how to put it all together. Mike Williams, the instructor, was showing us example work from classes taught in the previous quarter and it was amazing - and all from students who had never touched 3DS Max before. So it looks like this is going to be nicely productive :] Afterwards we can take the same model to rigging and animation classes and stick it into our final portfolio.

My major is called 'Game Art & Design,' so I'm one happy kitten.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Well now theres a peacer looking all old school heavy medalish. Neat.

Heeeeeeeeeey, chazarus actually looking like a happy drunk in this picture. Or maybe he isn't drunk and is just posing. Hmmm .....

Nice to see you again cherrpow. It looks cold where you took your pic. It's weird because I swear if you stare at your hair in the picture long enough,  I can see the top of your hair begin to turn into icicles.

:o Holy hell karyuu, your hair got super long since I last saw a picture of you! It is puuuuuuuuurtty.

Sounds awesome. One of my dreams has always been to get together with a modeler, a coder and an artist and start making a brilliant game. (Ragnar Tørnquist is my hero ;))

Freaky.

Hey hey,
Looking good everyone!

To ThomPhoenix: Aye, a live specimen in its natural habitat! :)
To Kalika: Just don't make me wear pink dresses and ribbons. :>
To Akaye: That happens outside. Living above 60 deg Northern latitude, it's bound to be freezing during the winter. But then again isn't the weather quite similar in Canada this time of year? :)
To Karyuu: Beautiful as always. :) Nice book too, "foreword by Peter Molyneux"! Looks like I'm going to have some real competition in the 3D dep soon.
To neko kyouran: Heh, there's even the same mirror in both pics. ;) I guess I'm somewhat... static.

@emeraldfool, did you enjoy making the harry potter movies?  :P But how did you play two people at once?  Playing twins must have been a difficult task  ;D

Seriously, have you been told you look like the Phelps twins ?

What? You're trippin', foo'. For one - my hair is blonde, not ginger. For two - I'm not freckly and I don't got that wide-eyed expression and for three - I'M NOT BRITISH  X-/

P.S. You guys are such arse-lickers  ;D
