Oddly enough for a medieval society, literacy is assumed for all characters because anyone can use a crafting book or read a library book. I am lazy, I sign things thusly:

You know, you're right.  It is rather odd.  In a medieval society, crafting skills would be taught by verbal instruction, demonstration and practice.  And if the town had a library, it would most likely be in a nobleman's house or a monestary.  I don't think the concept of a public library was something you would have seen in that time period.  I guess we are just an EXCEPTIONAL society.

coz PS realm isn't exactly medieval. Although many rules from it counts, there are a lot of differencies. For example we are on much higher technological stage.

EDIT; sorry, i'm not good in imitating written by hand signatures made in computer graphical programm.

His name is Walter Brennan.  He played in a lot of old Western movies.  Some of his roles were pretty dang funny.

That does sound much more familiar!  Thats just how it came up on the site. I don't watch many westerns but I have a friend who lives by them. I'll see if he knows him.

I normaly write in block capitals and with a pen, not a mouse but here is my febble attempt anyway!

Ooooor you could always use Photoshop with a custom font to make a super cool signature thingy... /me tries
