Quake SP map by Elvi: Quakeshift
« on: November 10, 2006, 06:06:29 pm »
Ok here's the map i was working on finalized and done have a looksie :)
It's centered around planeshift that's why i posted it here if anyone was wondering ;)
Thank to the ps team for making such a great game.

the 3 shots i will have here from now on
Temple
"my" plaza
magic shop

you may know some of these places, hopefully :)
also any comment's are welcome.

the final version of this map can be found here
click

skill levels:
easy 124, normal 139 and hard 155 monsters

do remember this map needs a 3d version of quake to look good, it may not even work on software quake

there's 1 bug i know and that is that rottfish counts twice but other than that it seems to run like it should.

Yeah - give it to me, baby! :D

And try it in more recent engines like "DarkPlaces" - they may never have looked better!

OMG, is taht the original Quake? I spent sooooooo many hours (days, weeks months) playing that game.

Great Idea to do some edits ;)

gona download your map and then search for my Quake CD ;D (I assume thats what the Zip is).

It is Quake 1 isnt it? the NIN boxes look identical.

(Actually, I recall having issues getting it to work last time I tried Quake, is there a linux OpenGL version that works, I tried it last in WinXP)

yep its quake 1 but you need a 3d client to run it, try joequake if you got winxp and i think its for linux to :)
and the zip file is the map itself ;)

For modern PCs, I'd recommend LordHavoc's DarkPlaces Quake Modification, although JoeQuake looks great too. A third recommendation is TomazQuake.

Other engine suggestions at the Quake Wiki.

Great work Elvi, and I remember how long you spent on these. I don't have a clue how you do something like that but if I did i'd struggle to make something that good.My faves the magic shop and the Plaza.

thanks gharan and the rest, do remember it's still :beta: and not the final so things may still change ;) oh and by the way theres no difficult settings on this map... yet anyway.

edit

i would apprisiate some feedback on the map itself like glitches, textures looking wrong and stuff that needs to be changed in general and also things you think is missing, helps me move on so to speak ;)
