Cannot Execute Binary File
« on: November 18, 2006, 05:56:03 am »
Ok, so I installed Planeshift quite successfully. I went to terminal in the planeshift folder and typed "./psclient" and my response was:

./psclient: line 6: /opt/PlaneShift/psc: cannot execute binary file
./psclient: line 6: /opt/PlaneShift/psc: Success

I'm unsure as to how to get into the game.

(as I am sure someone will ask, I am running Mandriva)

chmod +x /opt/PlaneShift/psc

type that into your console and try again.

can you check the permissions on the psc file? What are they?

I tried with the gamers (default) permissions, which I am in that group. I then tried with set full permission for everyone, and it still gave me the same error

My first guess is: You try to start 64-bit PlaneShift on 32-bit Madriva (or the opposite). Make sure You have installed version appropriate for Your OS.
