Hence i download vega strike to pass the time and found it was actually quite fun.
And if I get bored of that I can switch one of the other games i have on my drive. There are a fair few of them.

With some effort you can compile it yourself. It is actually not that hard, and a fairly detailed description is found on the following thread, and it's references...

I compiled it a couple of days ago, and it works nicely.  \\o//

It's actually SO hard to not freak out because I want to play it so bad.  >:( I feel your pain. I tried to play other MMORPG's for Mac but it just doesn't compare to PS.  Planeshift

I have to agree.  PS, even in it's pre-Alpha stage, looks 20 times better than any completed mac "mmorpg".

Just a quick question for any mac gurus out there:  Is there anyway I can set my uptader.jar file to run by itself.  Say, like on a weekly basis?

I couldn't agree more, PS is the best MMORPG out there :P Maybe because the developers don't hurry with the code, take their time to do it right  ::)

I think you should have a look at crontab (try "man crontab" in Terminal, or google it), haven't tried it for Mac, but in my pre-Mac period, I used it on Linux and it worked real nice :)

I think it might be possible to also add it into iCal. Create an event and have it repeat every month or week or whatever. Under alarm set it to open file and hopefully it will be able to run the updater.jar

Either that or the script option.

Haven't checked it out.

It might be an idea to check with Cha0s or a dev as sometimes the updater can break your copy of PS especially if you've downloaded the mac client and the update server hasn't been updated  :P
