Ultimate Guide for Planeshift Forums

Guide to Planeshift forums

This is the final guide for you, dear Planeshift forum member who is still confused about how you should behave.  From now on I will begin to post some interesting masks and personalities you can use while posting here, dear members.
Let me begin with the primitive part: The Newbies.

The Atomic Newbie

The Atomic Newbie is the most primitive form of the newbie. The Atomic Newbie will never have the ability to check any part of the site, but instead will go directly to the forums. Right when he does arrive at the forum, he will then begin to spam topics asking things like \"how many races are available\" and posting his ideas in the Wish List which every other single member (including the devs) have already posted before. Usually they grow and eventually changes to a different form.
QUOTES:
General Discussion : \"Hello I just heard about this game and came to check it it sounds really nice when will it be released??//\"
Wish List : \"I really think the game should have pk.\"
Newbie Help : \"Hello I am AtomicNewbie and I\'m very pleased of joining the comunity.\"

The Molecular Newbie

The Molecular Newbie usually is completely lost. If you assume that identity, be sure to ask things that goes far beyond the range of the game. One with this personality usually doesn\'t make an idea about what the game is about, and will not last much in the forums, but while is, he will spam far more than Link or tcd would ever dream of. In planeshift he does have the bonus \"attracting flames +2\".
QUOTES:
General Discussion : \"I really think the game should have pk.\"
Wish List : \"Please somebody give me the cheats so I can open the doors!!1\"
Newbie Help : \"Why isn\'t the sound working properly? I have a dual Xeon with 512 mb DDR and a samsung monitor\"

The Cristal Newbie

The Cristal Newbie is by far the most stressing of all newbies by a single reason: He knows it all. He knows every cheat for Planeshift, he have beat the game already some thousands times and well, he is simply the master. The Cristal Newbie usually posts 2 or 3 topics and then go away to the land of no return, after being harassed by every forum user. Choose this personality if you are a 13 years old child who knows every single rule from AD&D and fame will be all yours.
QUOTES:
General Discussion : \"LOL I have already beat that game twice\"
Wish List : \"LOL that game sucks you losers!!
Talad e-mail : \"Although I never played the game, I LOVE IT!\"

The Beta Newbie

By far the Beta Newbie is one of the most interesting and usefull newbies, althought it\'s not very rare to spot. One who choose to be the Beta Newbie decides to make a single topic showing his 3D gallery and indirectly wanting and asking to be part of the team. Usually they don\'t last much in the forum, because either they are spoted by some dev and become part of the team or they just get refused and go away ashamed.
QUOTES:
General Discussion : \"Hey dude, thanks, yea I made that in 3D Studio Max, took me about 2 minutes to render and does have about 300 polygons\"
Wish List : No Post
Talad e-mail : \"Here is my online portfolio http://www.mypotfolio.com I really hope u like it u know because I want a lot to work in that project\"

To be continued...

i was an atomic newbie, but shouldn\'t they be peanuts?   I would say give examples of each, but you might anger some people.

Elentor, what about those who actually lurk through the forums and main page, then come out of hiding with intelligent comments?  This does happen occasionally, really!  Or people who spend lots of time at other PS based boards (like Kada-El\'s or a guild page) and drop by here occasionally?

No one knows about peanuts anymore Woob, most of those people are gone. But just so everyone knows, they aren\'t newbies, they are peanuts.

LiraInzar, these are the Crystal Newbies, in their most primitive form. I hope that they never evolve to something more terrible.
