About the animation glitch:
I noticed the same sticking-leg-out-kick-jump, and can sort of reproduce it by running (shift+up) or turning (left+up), from stand still (including no camera motion) in third person view. Timing a /screenshot is difficult, however taking the screen shot sometimes freezes the screen mid-jump, so a regular print screen is possible:

about arrow attack, this is what i have found:
Friends with linux versions have no trouble casting the spell so it seems to affect only the windows version.
You dont need to cast anything for the client to crash, if you are seeing somebody casting it, it crashes too! :o just happened to me right now.
Seems that the animation for the spell is wrong, not for the casting, the spell, it does not show the arrow but an increasing bright white light, AFAIR this animation belongs to another spell.
I am on windows, and having no problems blasting away rats with summon missile or energy arrow. The bright flashes may be a planned effect using the new CS particle system. I think it looks great :). Reasons I may not have problems are: I have not visited BD, have an intel graphics onboard thing, and use a day old CVS build (which may have the problem solved).

Hope that helps locating the problem.

I think the new animation for Summon Missile is great, really nice  However, I found that there is a problem with the Flame Burst-animation.. There is nothing.. The nice dance (very nice addition I must say) and the red "circle-thingies" around the character, and then a hit without any visual flames or anything..

The spellcasting crashes seem to be due to the Windoze OpenGL subsystem feeding the graphics card drivers a bad (albeit non-NULL) pointer value, which would explain why it is Windows-only and seemingly graphics-card independent (except for Intel integrated video, which doesn't seem to have this issue, but I have no clue if Lanarel's PS is using the OpenGL renderer or not).  This actually may or may not be a PlaneShift bug per se, but a latent Windows OpenGL bug that PS is simply exposing; however, it does not happen all of the time...

I have oberved that it take in mean 3 cast to crash on my computer (amd 3200+ , 1gb ram et Geforce 6600 256mb)....
And for the BD zone, 6 steps in direction of the waterfalls... but in the opposite direction, no problem

it usualy helps to not look at all at the waterfall when your at bd, also going there when it's darker seem to help to... funny, havn't looked if the newest update fixed anything of that tho.

Yes...averting your eyes seems to help at the water fall.
