NOOOOOOO!!!  Wampyrs are at best overused and at worst, completely unapplicable to the present game, why do people feel like adding them to any game, just because they would be cool?  If you are going to make a game about the vampire (damn english), make one.. don\'t just add it to a current idea.  Don\'t get me wrong, I love the idea of vampires, but I also like hot dogs and ice cream, but believe that they should be strictly absent from the game.

I think if they did put in the idea of vampires, it would fall into the disease or plauge category. You get bit and you slowly die over the period of say three in game days. That way if vampires are in as a monster class, they would be hunted down more readily because they are a nuisance.

Personaly i just thought (jokingly) that maybe they could write then into the script and add npc\'s, i mean it might seem cheap but if done right even cheapness can be golden I mean  there is much depth and complexity in simplicity. We just have to craft it properly.

I\'m not sure were everybody else was going with this but lets get it straight: Planeshift is not a next generation survival horror game. Not that I don\'t think the gaming company that finaly figures that combining a survival horror game and an mmorpg will be filthy rich; It\'s just we should stay focused.

I\'ve never like the undead/scary alien types of games (with a few exceptions) it just seems to me a way to make an otherwise boring, not scary game look scary although the storyline is horrible.

I\'d say, if you want to be a vampire like you were in morrowind. You are just one little installation away (double click the morrowind install file ;) ). It isn\'t a bad idea necessarily, but if every fantasy type rpg you play starts to have vampires, it loses its originality. I think that the idea mentioned, which was to have vampire npcs, could be ok. Just forget the idea of them turning a person into a vampire, then that person turning everyone else into vampires. Which by the way, wouldn\'t that be considered a form of PvP? I do believe so.

If vampires ARE added to PS, it should probably be as a monster race that CANNOT propagate the disease(vampirism) onto thier victims.  I don\'t think PS should have vamps at all, as they do not seem right for the PS world, and they might be a trifle overpowered(does crystal light count as direct sunlight?)  I would say for the most part, stick with original monsters.

I agree! This idea is just stupid and has no connection to PS. X(
This thread didn\'t look serious from the beginning.

well maybe they could make vamps very very rare and one of the really big quest\'s for some super high stat characters would be to hunt them down and kill them off for good that way vamps arn\'t walking around on the street but are very scarce and evetually wiped from the game by some super stat character who got the quest

I agree with kpy14. I personally very much dislike the idea of vampires... mebbe there could be some legendary warrior who was turned into a vampire along with like 4 of his friends... and they live really deep in the caves and ver come out... just prey on people who come too far into the caves and can\'t defend themselfs.

BUt players shouldn\'t be turned into them. If the vamp gets him, he dies. And can\'t come back for a little while.

I\'ve only read the storyline once or twice but vampire\'s just as monster npc\'s in the game would be a total displacement in my opinion.

The era of the plot is mythical and legendary. The world is still in its infancy with multiple gods strugling to further their own cause. It reminds me a lot of greek mythology.

Vampire\'s implies some sort of duality with good and evil that doesn\'t seem to fit into this era. The gods may struggle and disagree but in some sence they are all on the same side. Vampire\'s makes me think of the middle-ages really.

Ofcourse this a fantasy game and anything will go, I\'d just rather see more creative mythical underground beasts instead of the usual vampire\'s and werewolves.

I know!!!!! this totally reminds me of greek mythology!! I love the story plot. I am an amature film maker, and I am thinking of making a short \"add\" for this game. Jus something that could be put up on the web.

Errr sry, A little off topic.
