The AoM?

*Matt, with a concerned-looking wizard on his shoulder.*

Hey everyone, it came to my attention a while back that some people random copy whole sites "just in case". I'm not going to say who it was (Induane!), but it gave me an idea recently. I was wondering if anyone had done this with the AoM site before Levski disappeared along with the hosting? I seriously doubt that anyone did, as it hadn't had a chance to get terribly popular yet, butthere's no harm in asking.

Failing that, has anyone seen me "Dissertation on Magic"? I would have thought that I would have posted it somewhere other than the AoM, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've moved too many computers to still have it on my computer, so I'm kinda perplexed...

* Phinehas doesn't give Bilbous a hug and a kiss, but thinks about it long enough that everyone should be disturbed.

Thank you SOOOOOO much! I'd never even heard of the Internet Archive before. It had it.

Phinehas, always back up your stuff at places you know will stay ;) I learned this on other people mistakes ;)
Especially one person whos h-drive crashed two times in the last 2 years ;)
Its a pity that the stuff written at AoM page was probably lost with no return... Although i hope there is a chance to get some of this stuff back.

What you can failure tommorow, failure today.

The internet archive is a great place take some time and browse its various offerings. Lots or legal band show downloads, public domain movies and books, it is kind of amazing.

Yes, well, you see... I wasn't actually in charge of the site. That was Levski. One day he dropped off the face of the world. I wrote him emails, pm's on every forum I knew he visited, etc. etc. Also, the site disappeared, can't remember if it was immediately or after a while, but that's why I never backed anything up.

Unfortunately, as I just discovered much to my chagrin, you're right. The actual info such as posts in the forum, or entries on the library wiki are gone. So if anyone has any of the info, please let me know...
