update fails because of of data/servers.xml~

Hello,

im running the .017 client ( linux). at connection to server its says update avaiable.
Ok lets start the updater.
but there it seems someone checked in a backup file of servers.xml which no mirrors hold (servers.xml~).

The updater tries to fetch a file with the name: data/servers.xml~

rest of the log from running the updater from shell:

It happened to my W2k client as well. Then I just hit "update" once more, and it went to download 63MB of stuff, while beforehand it was just going to fetch 76KB. By now, it is already past the servers.xml~, so try re-updating.

I tried it 4 times before i was posting that issue.
After your post and the time of this posting i tried it several times but the problem was still there.

At least  the *ough i cant count it anymore* try seems to work now...

Well, given that this post advises to not update at all, that's a pretty good result IMO.

Afaik is that advice outdated because in the server.xml~ file there is the wrong port for the game server.
Seems they didnt removed backup file from the editor after changing the port back to the old 7777, so that was the probs caused

nevermind its working now, the only think i should worry about is that i have only 3 1/2 h to sleep left...

Update still not working here.  I made a clean installation of 017 (linux) and then ran the updater until it tried to fetch above mentioned file.  Re-runing the updater causes the same error again.  Luckily, chances are that any file that would be updated after this one is not all that important, so it might still work.

Basically, Try disabling the updater from pulling the data files temporarly so you can get the other files listed after "data/servers.xml~"
