Perhaps drop the "daughter of an Octarch" bit and make it "daughter of a wealthy Hydlaa merchant" :] It would be far more believable. I don't know how you can hide anyone in the Arena though, it's not that kind of place. How can the monster "allow" only one warrior at a time, as well? Is it an enchanted, magical beast? Tefusang aren't really known for their intelligence, so something of a magical nature would help you plug the gaps. Give us some detail to how the kidnapping was done :]

Seems much better although you would probably want to give a better reason for only one person being able to fight than magic. Seems sort of a weak reason.

I don't really think an Octarch would let a person convicted of murder judge who should save his daughter.

not right to say, i was never convicted therfore i am innocent, if i was guilty, surely by now i would be hung.... and if i was convicted then something would have happend to me. those are all rumors that can be spread but cant be proven so i find offense to the title "convicted murderer"

the beast is hiding and will only attack someone who has prooved themself worthy by winning this. Could be mastered by the beast who wants a good fight. And forces it by taking this hostage.
