Character Type NPCs

What is the deal with these character type npcs that have been showing up around the world recently? I mean the ones that have player-like default descriptions and who do not seem to have anything to say for themselves. I've seen several near Harnquist, one in the tunnel to the arena and other places. They seem to come and go willy-nilly.

Anyone know about them?

They are the recent bugs of the pet system, and nothing more :] Borrillis and TomT have been trying to figure them out today, and they'll be attempting to disable what's causing this bug before finding a permanent solution.

The GM team has had to destroy literally hundreds of these clones today, over and over and over. Mindnumbing exercises.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Thank you for the response. Now that is a very odd bug if they are the result of someone summoning a pet.
