It really helps to look through other guild threads in this forum, and read our stickied threads. You'd like to get new members, but so would everyone else - and in a competition, you have to match up to if not overcome all those who want the same thing. The really good guilds (in quality, not alignment) have unique elements and a strong organization. These things are hard to attain when you're just starting out - even though we have resources here to help you, they ultimately have to be your ideas.
Did you make a guild because a) you just wanted to lead a guild, or b) you wanted an interesting and unique guild? If you started out with b) in mind, you still have a ways to go, but if you just wanted a) you risk getting lost amidst all the other similar guilds and the game is then "Who talks to the newbie first" and not "Who will the newbie like best after a comparison."
