Many NPCs, including these which did already before, don't understand 'hello', 'who are you' and 'how are you'. It is all over around, not only BD.

I expected better from you, a Veteran of the forums, ONE who should set a example. Let me make one thing clear to you, If someone finds a word offensive, I will respect there feelings, not belittle them, SHAME on you for setting a bad example.

Anyhow to stay ontopic.

When I joined the NPCs seemed to understand several sentences. I heared the GMs and/or devs were looking over the sentences the NPCs didn't understand and adding reponses. This was why NPCs I was told would improve over time. However it seems the NPCs have been restarted and the adding has been stopped so it makes me wonder if a thread like this would help.

Honestly, i don't think this thread is going to help ;P The quests and NPC interaction is just poor, because there was no people to work on it^^ Although this has changed a bit, there are loads of half made ideas waiting for implementation, but it is just not happening yet. And from this what was already implemented, it is not working good enough or not working at all. Even the quests which were done and maybe are still made, have triggers made in bad way (making it really cumbersome) and there are not many variations for different responses of player to NPC, or there is only single response, like the one implementing a quest was in haste or something.
Its like a NPC asks you to do something, you say okay, or similiar, and he doesn't know what you are talking about. Quests are extremaly flat and there is just no commnication with them. They know some facts and sometimes they are unrelated with what is around. NPCs know 0.01% of this what they should and it is just because there is not enough people who work on them and the setting of PS is flat too. Sometimes when you read books/do quests you feel like the dev writing them had no idea what is PS setting about. This is eighter because there are no devs who know PS setting well, or the PS setting is indeed really flat. The funny thing is i can't even know it.

hmmm, not many people working on it? maybe because its a boring thing to work on. How about the Devs recruit alot of people to work on just that, the back and forth chat with NPCs, im sure if 50 people from the forums were to work together to get itsorted then it wouldnt take long. The only issue there would be the fact that everything that is done has to be approved by Talad, which in my humble opinion is a flaw in the projects design.

Unfortunately, random 50 people on this forum don't know all ties the NPCs have with one another, nor do they know quest plans and things like planned personality quirks, jobs, etc. This is Settings territory, and we are making an immense progress at this time thanks to Kerol and Xillix. If you guys think that some of the most recent, newest quests are flat, I have absolutely no idea what to tell you

Well, I didnt say Random, I was thinking the most capable and knowledgable. you could always release the quest, job and personality knowledge to them. im sure there are enough creative members of this forum to make a signifigant imapact on the project. you just need to look in the communitive story writing section to see some of the talent that is being overlooked.

Thats probably me ;P. Unfortunately i have no way to find out which quests are new. As flat, O describe any quests where I have to say 'give me a quest' 'yes' and possibly some other simple phrase, then give the item with no word at all. And the NPCs say nothing more about the quests, besides this.
The reason why i don't found any more complex quests is complete failure on NPC interaction. Completly nothing has changed since MB and it is eighter because noone was really working on it, or it is so hard. In this case the idea about talking with NPCs should be changed completly if we are going to achieve this what is aimed at, or we will have this working in 50 years, at which point most of us will be dead anyway.
