Glyph spell making error?

Ok, whats up? I dont think the combine glyph window is working, because on one of my chars when I try to make a spell that i know exists and click research... nothing comes up. I asked other new players and they said that they couldnt make spells either. Is something wrong or am i missing something here?

There are other buttons besides Purify and Research - one of them is something like "Save Spell." I can't remember exactly, but Research isn't the one you're supposed to press (yet?).

I tried all those buttons and..... nothing worked. Plus they should be able to at least see what spell it makes, right?

Once you pop the glyphs into the combination slots at the bottom of the window, you should automatically see if they make a spell or not. The only button you need to press afterwards is the "Save Spell" one, to save the spell to your Spellbook for future use.

Which Glyph(s) are you using for this?

Perhaps there is a skill level requirement, I am just speculating.

You should be able to see the spell it makes regardless of level, at least, that is how it used to be, and I haven't seen any where to say that this was changed.

I'd say make sure the glyphs are purified first.  If I recall correctly, a non purified glyph will be missing a green border around it in the inventory slot.  When it's in the process of being purified, there's a grey border, then when it's purified, it becomes a green border.

Or I could just be seeing things.

Very strange...but I have the same problem...after the last release I had all the spells, could regularly cast them and the text for all could be seen in the windows...yet now, no text for any magic is ever seen when I tried the slots, Purify works still and casting spells outside the spell book is fine but doesn't work from the button in the book...something is definitely not right there for me at least.

I remarked that when i use the button research with the Levrus glyphs, there is no text but a message in system saying that "You know already this spell".
But with armor (i had the glyph since some time but forgot to make the spell  ) it worked properly.
so maybe only new spells are described....

Yes, it's a bug.
When you put some glyphs forming a spell that you already know into the combination slots it won't display the spell description. You can drag them in there again and click "research" as much as you like but it won't display it. Only when you click on save it will say in the system tab that you already know the spell.

And purified glyphs have a golden border

It should be nice to have a message of type "This spell doesn't exists"... so I can know about the current combination...

Ok. It worked for the freeze spell (even though after you get it you cant see the description in the glyph window again), But it wont make the Summon Missile spell with the Arrow glyph. Whats up? Also. Is the new glyph (I wont say name) able to make any spells yet or is it not implemented yet?

The position of the glyph is very important, yes.

The combinations for glyphs are made in a way, that you need to place the right glyph in the right slot, or you won't get the spell, that is assigned to a combination of glyphs.

Not really part of the thread topic but...
If I want to make a spell that uses a glyph I've already made a spell from and is in my spellbok, will I need another glyph?
