New indie MMORPG in the works
« on: December 21, 2006, 11:35:33 pm »
http://edenflow.com/  I'm not creating it but I found the page and thought it was rather cool.

How many roleplaying games do you know of that take place almost entirely under the sea? That have fascinating new species never before seen in any other game? That focuses primarily on the struggle of a culture under threat, where every character plays his/her own role in the world to survive?

Looks interesting, although it seems like another of the 100s of ambitious MMORPGs that get ground into dust by the corporate super-addictive levelgrinders  X-/

I wish them good luck. Seems they still have a long way to go though.

Edited to add: Judging from the forums, the whole thing seems a bit dead...

It's not dead so much as... on hold. Still quite an interesting premise, whatever the naysayers say... (which, I guess, would be mostly "nay"...)

At which point do you think it will become off hold? I signed up and posted on the message board on the 2nd and still haven't gotten a reply.

Development hasn't entirely ceased, just slowed for the crazy season :)

Also, they look like a bunch of amateurs  :sweatdrop:

Ahem.....
* Under the moon takes a bow, having coined said name for the project, but is not involved directly in it.

I even once swam with the fishes.

Did you walk with the animals, talk with the animals?

It is a pity this project is on 'hold'.

Finally some really unique!

And from the concept arts of battery powered "stun guns" used for fishing, I doubt it will follow the medieval scheme of many MMORPGs
I wish them good luck!

Sci-fi isn't that incredible for an MMORPG either...

Personally I always wanted to see a cool crime-based MMORPG, like an online version of GTA... with carjacking and gangland warfare and player-made hitman contracts...

MMORPGs* are commercial and children are a huge audience, making a MMORPG like that would probably look like an 18+ on paper and that means less money than before = no real reason to make it.

* I am well aware of a game called Planeshift so no sarcastic questions please, I am talking in general here.

It's too bad Moogie decided to leave Planeshift and use her talents elsewhere.  It was a very spiteful act.

I don't think you understand the full picture.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

they would have little kids on a GTA online game and they would go kill somoen or somthing and then they would get sued or somthing stupid liek that ;D
I just spread the news i dont make it.

Some people are only alive because its illegal to kill them.
