Haha, I'm saying that if you think about becoming a dev you should probably warn your members and not just randomly dissapear leaving a mostly inactive lad in charge.

That's the most conceited quote I ever done see :P

It implies that you're brimming with confidence; that the target of the quote is unfamiliar with the concept of both confidence and conceit; that you are, and are thusly wiser than the target; that you aren't conceited in the slightest; that you're well-read and know all these fellas and their quotes; etc.

But, eh, that's just my impression. And it's less a reflection of you and more a reflection of this Patton bugger...

Thing is, this kinda game doesn't tell you what to do. There is no big bad boss that needs an asskicking before he floods the world into chaos ... well there may be a few players like that but yeah. Basically you do whatever you want to, go chat a bit at the tavern while drinking, go hunt rats in the sewers or just explore and roam around the world.

And this is why i threw this game into the Recycling Bin....2 Versions of this game to be exact.  No real quests, no boss butt to kick, no definition or storyline to build off of or follow after... in other words....boring as hell.  You can keep your little Planeshift and I'll stick to my Rappelz, 2Moons, Hero Online, and Tantra 3....REAL mmorpgs!

Oh sure, go play finished games.  Call the version 0.3.17 games fake.  Let's see you do better, eh?  I've done enough programming to tell you, making a game like Planeshift is not something easy.  Personally, I see a great amount of potential in Planeshift.  Granted, it's current incarnation will only be able to hold my attention for at most ten more hours of playtime before I get bored (I have better things to do than chat or powerlevel, like homework or my taxes, or working on an OS).  But I don't hold that against the game, because it isn't finished.  This game has impressed me, and is on my watch closely list.  I'll come and go a good bit over the coming year, due to time constraints and big events in that other RPG called life, but I'll definitely be keeping tabs on stuff.  If nothing else, I'm beginning to feel inspired by the fan-art and if I can tear myself away from programming long enough, I might contribute some of my own.  It's especially cool that I could learn Blender, then stick things inside Planeshift to play with.

Well, no offense or anything, but Planeshift is a little too slow paced for my schedule.  Actually, consider it a compliment that when I do have time for games, Planeshift is in the upper region of my list.  I can't say the top, because that varies depending on mood, but it's up there.

I should have a big block of free time in May though, so I'll be doing a bit of questing then.

ok, i'm a total newbie to this game (actually this kind of game...). My problem is that I can do anything in the game, so now i'm standing in the town with no objective and has no idea what to do. Yea, I ran around the town a few times, picking up a few apples, meeting a few NPCs (the only lines they seem to recognize is "hi" and "hello"), but still, i don't know what to do.

Basically, I'm lost. Sure there are a some players in the town, but it feels weird just run up to them and ask "what should I do now?". I've read there are minings and stuff but they are kinda vague on where and how, besides, i don't really like to be doing heavy labour in the game (after all, I've got enough work in real life).

So, anyone got a suggestion as to what I should do? I've got nothing useful in my inventory and has no money (trias, whatever you call them).

Explore, and eavesdrop on conversations.  After you're done exploring, find people and talk about what you saw.

Or you could kill rats and mine gold.

I love that...

Especially if you catch someone by surprise by knowing about what they thought was a passing comment in a private RP
