EDIT:
- sorry, but i solve the "speed" problem bu my self: it was a wrong setting in xorg.conf . "man radeon" will light your mind
- i can report one graphic issue about transparency: for exaple, i can see the square(with or light-azure) used for the erbs on the grounp ^^ it should be transparency, but i can see it. On windows all works ok.

cya :)

---------------
Hi :)
Sorry if i write only now..
[See above] Tx for the solution: it seem to rosolve some problems, but few minor graphics problems still are.

[SOLVED] However the worst thing now, it's that the game "speed" slow down (very down) for about 4/5 seconds, and every 10/15 seconds.. the game of course, is unplayable.

Hello,
I just wanted to say I got the same problem here and replacing the gldriver.xml reduced the speed dramatically (but fixes the graphic-bug)
Building the client myself has fixed the problem.

My PC specs can be found in the sticky thread "Installer Feedback": http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=19377.msg305525#msg305525

I need to say that I am experiencing graphic problems as well. I am using Ubuntu Edgy Eft, and not only are the graphics "broken" but the game in incredibly slow.

I've just downladed the official driver from http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux and performed the default installation of it... the invisible textures are now visible, but others that where visible are not !
I guess I have to study more carrefully the configuration of the driver

I am running into some of these issues with .18 as well, under ubuntu dapper drake.  It is only for specific items, however.  For example if my (Ylian male) character is wearing his chainmail torso armor, that is not rendered properly, it is transparent (only not quite).  If he takes it off, then the torso is rendered correctly.  Other things that don't render properly are trees, the moving "target" graphic, and many of the item icons in the inventory.  All of this was fine before the upgrade.  I hope this might give someone an idea on what might be wrong.

Looking at the inventory items, I notice that some items other problems, such as the boots that look like a potion, as does the torso armour that invisible when worn and looks like a potion when dropped.  I wonder if there is an incorrect offset into an image texture file, perhaps?

It's all about Texture-Compression, which doesn't work correctly with the in-kernel-DRI-stuff.
There's this line in data/config/gldrivers.xml:
Code: [Select]
        <regexp string="renderer" pattern="^Mesa DRI Radeon 2002" />Replace it with
Code: [Select]
<regexp string="renderer" pattern="Mesa" />has fixed it on two of my machines.

I am sorry to say it, but this is a problem that has evolved beyond an ATI/Intel problem or even one that involves MESA at all.  i am running an NVidia Geforce 6600 LE with current drivers and while I don't have the problems with missing torso or bad armor graphics, I do have that problem with looking around corners.  In fact, most of the doors on the outer perimeter of both towns aren't there.  I just get a strange looking hole or sometimes you can see through it clearly, but it just looks like the land drops off into blue nothing a few paces out.  I can't actually walk through, thank god.  With that being said, I have been running it on windows instead with no problems on the same computer, so it's not that big of a problem for me, but I figured you would want to know about a similar problem on a graphics card with absolutely no similarities.

krazymonkeys: Yes, you've got another problem here. But I don't think it's a whole-MESA-problem

Do you by chance have a unicode font set  to be used for all apps? I don't know if PS supports it or not but it looks to be a font problem to me. Just a guess.
