Please, just stop to insult each other, and I think you are all adults... But if you continue, it is not ...
Do what you want, but it\'s not a good idea to insult each other. I\'m talking for all in here!
Just Stop... it\'s an advice ... :baby:
Just do RP... in this game that\'s the only thing what is important ...

I tend to not wish to watch other people argue on message boards, it\'s a nice sentiment.  However, it\'s not always plausible in the real world.  One has to understand this:

1.)  Some players waited extremely long amounts of time for development within PlaneShift and are a tad irate since... well... a lot of time passed.  Give them a small degree of understanding.

2.)  Not everyone gets along with everyone else.

3.)  Others merely wish to cause trouble and will eventually be kicked out by Moderators.

4.)  The people yelling are mostly doing it for good reasons (i.e. ranting at ignorant newbies who refused to read the message history and asked an already answered question).

5.)  Not everyone who is an adult acts like one - and vice versa - especially on the internet.  (See commet three, this can apply to them, too.)

6.)  I hate to say this... but for posting the, \"Make RP, not War.\" stuff will probably get you yelled at.

kahlisi, u mind me adding something i think u didn\'t mention? u mentioned some good points. but for a few of them there is also another side ...

1.) some developers r doing the codings and stuff for fun, because they want to create a game they r going to love themselves. please also understand them, that they don\'t care for a childish screaming mass of people who think posting in agressive ways will in any way influence the speed of development. remember they don\'t get paid for developing it. this some people crying for the next update seem to have forgotten already. i mean sure i also can\'t stand waiting but... i don\'t have to pay for it so why start getting angry if it is just time u wait for some fun?

4.) some of them don\'t care about the question, all they c is \"a newbie, in my territory!!! insane!!!\" as always in life u need to pick the others out of the crowd.

5.) just as addition: most of the yelling loudest. yell that loud on the net because in real life they have nothing to say.

Shaded - Yes, I do understand that there are two sides to every coin/opinion/truth/reality.  And on some of the things you said, I do agree.

However, let me state a few counter-reasonings:

1.)  The Developers \"coding for fun\" idea is correct, but, most smart Devs do NOT visit the Forums for their video game on a regular basis and only pay attention to the needed topics.  This is why message boards such as the Role Playing Forum and the Off Topic Forums are created, so those waiting have a way to vent their anger.

Devs understand watching is a chore and is sometimes worse than doing the actual coding.  Oh, and Devs recruit MB Moderators so they can focus on making the game instead of keeping the flamers at bay.  There are many sides to compiling a game than doing the coding/graphics/storyline; Public Relations is one of those jobs.  Again, hence the message board Mods.

4.)  Not caring about the question - completely understood.  However, I am quite positive you yourself would be very angry after hearing the same question for the fifteenth time.  This is when they no longer care about the question and are instead imposing a harsh retaliation against those that are lazy and do not read up on what has past.  Some deserve it and some don\'t.  I am not saying it justifies actions on either side, but life is not fair nor is it ideal.

Generally, if a new person says, \"Hey, I\'m new to the game, read up on the information a bit, but I think I skipped over something regarding (insert topic here).  I know it\'s probably been asked tons of times, but could someone point it out to me, please?\"  Instead of, \"hye when wil tis game b n beta faze? EYE WNT IT N0W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111\"

It really is a matter of introducing oneself properly, stating that it is a stupid/over-asked question, which grants better responses instead of spamming all the Forums, speaking like a complete fool, and being rude.  (And posting in all caps is rude.)

Take myself for example:  I\'m a \"newbie\" by my post count AND joined date, and yet Link responded kindly to me.  Why?  Because I present myself in an intelligent manner, read up on the game before posting, do not ask stupid questions, do not act like an idiot, do not spam, and have something good to add to conversations.

There are, what I call, \"Newbie Nazis\" on every forum - it\'s more of an initiation right than anything.  These are the ones who flame newer members just because they\'re new.  Sometimes they can be funny, sometimes they can be harsh; but the biggest concern is that if there was a large problem the Forum Moderators would ban the flamers, wouldn\'t they?  Secondly, there is a Private Message/Email Link system on most Forums today - if the newer player feels justified in their undue harassment they can always PM/Email the Moderators for a problem fix.

5.)  Some people yell loudly because no one listens to them in real life, and when they find a medium where what they say affects others they use it to the fullest extent.

On that flipside, some people yell loudly because they believe once the monitor turns off it\'s done and nothing bad happened.  (This being the biggest problem with \'net dwellers...)

And others live on the thrill of saying things on the internet that they wouldn\'t dare to someone standing next to them in line at the bank or grocery store.

(Being flame resistant on the internet is a GOOD thing.  Thankfully, I built up a thick skin over the years.  Let\'s just say I learned from being one of those \"stupid newbies\".)

I agree with Kahlisi.
Maybe the moderators can add some \"user-mods\" and some of the trustworthy people can delete posts and such.

yep, fully agree,
now it\'s complete :D
but unluckily, it won\'t b read often enough to stop a few things because the people to lazy to read past posts won\'t read this one as well so now we have a (complete) summary of the status on every online board system on the net, but r not able to influence anything (in the peoples minds).
well, luckily we don\'t have to, we just don\'t need to read what does not fit into our actual mood. :)

too much to read so I\'ll just say my piece

Its ok to argue, its only natural, but when you dismiss somebody because they say something that you dont like herein is the problem, so fix it.

Sorry but... Im afraid I must ask. Why do they suck? Is it because their posts are meaningful and insightful and your to impatient to take the time to read them? :P I for one enjoy reading long posts that have a spark of intelligence in them.

PS: this was NOT meant to be a flame. More of a question. But respond to it however you want I guess.

well princess... I like to let people know that they suck on a daily basis...like kiern said, its kinda my way of saying your all cool ur slaping everyone a mental high five and really i guess i was testing to see if kahlisi would go back on all that worthless dribble that came from his/her mouth.

ps
I for one enjoy keeping my mind free of philosophical b.s.
even though I read it...it didn\'t tell me anything new. all he/she did was recategorized peoples attitudes then inflict his/her feelings on the subject, after all who ever heard of a \"Newbie-nazi\" you do know how bad all the little nazi children were treated after the war right? reverse idealism is a bit-ch and people have hated on what kalisi would call a \"newbie nazi\" as well take link for example (not that link is a nazi ur anything). he\'s doing us all a service by scaring off all the morons but do we thank him? nope we just come up with nasty names like newbie nazi for the job he does reluctantly. I think we should all just stop the hate.

I never stated that Link was a \"Newbie-Nazi\".  I\'m sorry, but nowhere in my writings does it say, \"I believe Link is a Newbie-Nazi\".  I could be blind (doubtful) and have posted that but... errr... it\'s not the case.  Considering the term Newbie-Nazi and Link are not even in the same paragraph, it is a hard line to follow.

There is a little saying I would like to bring to light, \"Assuming things makes an \'arse\' (word substituted) out of \'u\' and \'me\'.\"  I give proper thumbs up to hitman for making themselves the less favored end of a donkey.  :)

Oh and I\'m a female.  Cheers!

(Edit: I would like to add that no one else tried to beat me with a stick believing I called Link a Newbie-Nazi.  Why?  Because I didn\'t.  And why did they not follow the same train of thought as hitman?  Because they read my entire post and didn\'t skim.  ;) )

I agree with Kiern, even though I didn\'t really read his post.  That does not change my loyalty to the former king. Uh oh, General Link the Dicktator is coming, better run.
