With Xillix’s fall into insanity, I was given the reins to the Vespers to spread the message of Laanx and to lead its members in their study and servitude. However, our message too often fell on deaf ears, and people were no longer as forthcoming in proving alms and support to the guild as they once were in the past. This disheartened our dwindling numbers and it filled me with a sense of disappointment with the citizens of Hydlaa.
I am now pursuing the more esoteric of Laanx’s teachings using texts and resources not previously available. However, before going off in my own direction, I did something radical: I dissolved the Vespers of Laanx. This was not an attempt to end the guild. Rather, it was the only way I could save it.
As I had hoped, someone stood up to the challenge of reforming the guild. Panthro was that one individual, and he has the support of both Xillix and myself. Honour Panthro, leader of the Vespers of Laanx. He will face many challenges as he struggles to find and recreate the identity of the Vespers of Laanx and perhaps his own identity as well.
Out of this, I hope for all to learn some of the lessons that I have been entrusted with: In death is life. Only out of chaos can learning come. Send to the Vespers all those who are lost, and long live Panthro, successor of Xillix.
