Interesting how the warmest temperature was in '74, though the coldest was 9 years later...

Why is it interesting?

So shut up, don't preach to be about things I'm specialized in.

When you're wrong, you're wrong. :D

I hope your not claiming to be specialized in global warming...

Melting icecaps might not make sense to you, and that's fine.  A lot of things don't make sense if you don't know much about them.  kthxbye ^_^

That's funny, you read enough articles on the internet - which almost always have an agenda other than to simply 'inform', be it political, or simply to cause as much hype as possible in order to sell copies/get advertising - and suddenly you're the expert.

I'm telling you, Global warming is NOT going to end the world, and it's NOT the cause of everything bad that happens, and if you don't believe me then by all means, sob in the corner and piss your pants. It wont make a difference.

If we solve global warming, the media will just find something else that nobody cared about before which will suddenly be the cause of imminent disaster. In the past they thought steam trains moved so fast they would cause severe brain damage to the people inside.

Don't get me wrong, global warming exists, and its a problem, but so is poverty, world hunger, pollution, animal extinction - tonnes of other stuff to waste our time pissing our pants about...

Emeraldfool, you keep trying to dismiss the facts by labelling them as hype, but you've yet to prove that they're hype even slightly.  You just keep saying over and over again, "It's the media", "It's the lefties", "It's the chicken littles", blah blah blah.  How about you come up with some proof, eh?

Don't get me wrong, global warming exists, and its a problem, but so is poverty, world hunger, pollution, animal extinction - tonnes of other stuff to waste our time pissing our pants about...

None of that changes the facts surrounding Global Warming.

Just a note, you do realize this discussion won't actually change anything aye?

Uh... frogs are green?

Are they going to cause an ice age?

You want me to form a theory around that? If I tell you that there's a chance letting a certain species get wiped out MAY result in an imbalance in the eco system, which MAY result in a massive infestation of rats in North America, which MAY result in a new more powerful form of the bubonic plague being released, which MAY result in the devastation of the American economy and a financial depression like no other... would you piss your pants for me?

Edit: What facts? Show me these facts about Global warming you have. All you've come up with so far is 'teh temprachure is sltly higher... liek 50000 degriz!!!11'. Common sense is my citation, it's your job - being the whacko - to sway me

Hmm.

My best friend once told me that he melts the ice caps every time him and his girl friend get together.

Guess I should tell him to tone it back a bit.

And on the more serious note.  Debates and discussions good, flamies and getting heated is bad, especially when talking about melting ice.  I haven't seen any melt downs yet, so lets all keep a cool head about things.

I love puns.

Yep, 15 degrees above. Even so, the coldest temperature was recorded 9 years after. I don't really see a major warming, do you?

I see wider fluxuations in tempature. It seems to me a sign of erratic tempatures.
