New Chars Messed Up

the newest update just recently began working and i thought it would be nice to start a new char. i deleted my old one and made a new one, the only problem is that he had no skills at all. before the update when i created a char the things i chose changed what skills he had and how much of each that he had. after the update the skills are all set to 0 no matter what i do. any idea whats going on? is this supposed to be happening?

could be game or server lag.  happened to me for a second but then i looked back and it was normal again.

ok ill give another few tries. i hope it fixes itself.

Edit: no luck. its still happening. is this happening to others? what should i do?

There are some bugs in character creation. For now only use custom creation.

i have been using custom creation.

Edit: just gave quick create a try and it said what skills i would get, but i still got none. i cant even kill rats with 0 in all skills. :'( oh well.

Same problem here.

Luckily i had a problem with textures and found this thread, otherwise i wouldn't have known that there are skills to get making the char :)

I tried custom and random creation of the characters, but neither nor did it get any skills.

The problem is that our char creation scripts didn't get updated for some changes. I'll fix them shortly.

How about you just leave it as it is now and call it PS: uber 1337 mode.

For those hard core gamers looking for a real challenge.

Why don't we just get rid of skills altogether? Use the Doom 3 engine :P
