Secrets?
« on: February 13, 2007, 04:15:41 pm »
Why is it that a day after the update, there's a huge crowd around Percival? Is there some secret there no one's sharing? How did they find it out, did someone tell them? How did that person know there was something special there?

Does this thread have any purpose or don't you understand the way games work?

But how did they know about it? Does someone just come out and worldshout that it's there? I don't see it written anywhere.

This kind of info is usually obtained by communicating with NPCs.
"But how did they find that exact NPC so fast?"
You have no idea how many PS'ers are constantly hunting for quests ;)

I could not help myself from rolling around the floor when I read this..

Surely the huge, giant gates behind percival would give you some sort of clue?

noone needs to tell you this, you can see it for your self. And of coarse the fact that on the main site mentions that a new area had been released would also raise an eybrow or two..

There were no gates....then suddenly, their were gates.

That sort of thing draws a crowd of attentitve adventurers pretty quickly. Especially in a 'Midievil" realm with an instantaneous and all encompassing digital communications net. (hehehehe)

I don't go by the sewers very often, so I missed that.

RPing in place at Harns or a Tavern will cause a citizen of this- or any- realm, to miss all kinds of things. (Not neccesarily applying this to you, it is just a general truism)

There is a balance that needs to be realized between leveling/fighting, questing, PvPing, and RPing. IMO the game is best when ALL are used to their fullest potential.

Fighting on the move- once you get the hang of it- is FUN. Questing (when the NPCs cooperate), is FUN. Dueling against players of equal(or in my case greater cause i like a hefty challenge) skill is EXTREMELY FUN, and you add in the IC RP on top of it, it's what separates PS from the rest IMO.

PS- if properly realized- will be the best of every world.

I think you're aproaching it the wrong way. All your actions should be IC. From the moment you log in you should be IC. For some characters that does not mean fighting.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

You're still missing stuff though, whether or not it's due to your character. I like to have at least one 'normal' character that avails of all PS' features. The rest I use primarily for RP.

Aye, I have a variety of characters. I roleplay with all of them and they, between them, encompass near all available skills. It's not like I have to drop RP to avail of game mechanics. Some characters just have no use for them.

Suno_Regin: Communicating with NPCs can be done by Right-Clicking on them and then click on the various choices of icons offered... But, NPCs are not the only things you can Right-Click on in PlaneShift and gain some further information when you do so!

- running PlaneShift Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11) Client, on an Apple iMac G5 2GHz PowerPC processor, 2GB DDR SDRAM, an ATI Radeon 9600 graphics card with 128MB VRAM, a 20-inch active-matrix LCD widescreen display, and a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive... so what's your excuse, huh?

You know, I haven't posted here for a while, we're nearly a page full and I've only made 2 posts, not including the one that started this thread. Why are you still directing things at me? I got the point a long time ago, I just don't pay much attention to these things, but I really don't like the way Djinn replied.
