Whenever I start the game the fragnetics server says failed beside it, I was not blocking it with a firewall.  Any idea on how to fix this?

What version are you runing?

We did an update here just a little bit ago.  You'll need client .3.018 to play.

As far as I know, the updater mirors are still not set up, so if you don't have that version, you'll have to redownload the new client, if you wish to play.  Or wait a few more weeks (possibly, could be sooner) and us the updater to upgrade from .3.017 to the new client.

I just downloaded the game from the torrent provided in the download section with .3.018.  The update program is working and updated once, but when I "check game server" there is no response.

Then herein lies the problem. 

Uninstall, check to make sure that all files and folders are removed (except the original install file) and then reinstall.

At the end of the install, do NOT run the updater.  Running the updater breaks your install at the moment, becuase the updater is not ready to be used.

After install, you should just be able to load up the client, and then log in.

I got the same Problem.
First uninstall the Game complettly,
then install the newest one,
then do NOT update the Game, because the updater installs some old files.
Thats it.

I can't completely uninstall the game, an error saying
'Cannot delete libcurl.dll: Access is denied
 
 Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
 and that the file is not currently in use.' pops up.

It's being used in memory.  Reboot your PC and then retry.
