Bodacher left PS because of melodrama within his guild.  I didn't know Ganinos left, but chances are it's because his guild is mostly innactive.  I don't think you can connect their leaving to "the way things are done" here.

I think that the only way for us, as players, to make GM events less predictable in the short run are to metaphorically hijack them (ICly, of course) in some way, for instance, as an evil character, getting the polymorph glyph to turn the poor wizard into a Grendol and then getting him to give you all the glyphs he uses or getting him to hold up Harnquist in return for his own form back would be such a metaphorical hijacking.

I fear that if someone did that, would probably end banned or something else as I'm not sure but I think from the way things look that GM Events were made to have a fully scripted and linear outcome where PCs have no way to change it. But heh, that's just a impression that I hope being wrong.

In the Polymorph glyph event, the adventurer was originally asking for an Ulbernaught fur:  however, when someone used rhetoric (ethos and pathos, playing on pity) on him to get him to return to Hydlaa, he did.  The cost was then lowered to 10 lake mushrooms instead of an Ulbernaught fur.  They aren't necessarily fully scripted, unless the (player) character was told to go and do that, which I believe he wasn't.

GM events are only scripted in the form of GM-controlled characters. The team absolutely loves when players do something unexpected and unpredictable - it means more fun for everyone. Lordraleigh, stop quivering about "bans" so much :)

And by the community dying I did not mean the number of players, I met the number of older players leaving for greener pastures as they have become fed up with the way things are done on PS.

There are certainly people who grow tired of how things are handled by developers. But if they made their point and we choose to disagree, then perhaps their moving on is for the best, for both parties. We can't please everyone all the time. If some awesome talented people end up leaving, it's unfortunate. But some awesome talented people stick around, too.

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

for instance there was a small event yesterday with a giant rat that needed some ingredients to turn back into his former self. Instead of just asking for the ingredients there could have been guards where the ingredients are and attack any tresspassers, a bit more of a brach out in events would definitely make good Roleplay. There is no script, just RP.
We all know ylians have the package, the looks, the brain, pretty much all of it, I feel guilty.

I enjoyed the GM event i partook in sunday or monday where a GM in plate armor challenged several of us to a (mobile) duel. I pounced from a distance, scored 3 hit in the first 2 seconds of the fight with SW daggers(49/50qual), max stats, and max daggers, and did exactly zero damage.

LOL, good one that.

The GM duels during the Oja-Rogue war on the other hand, FANTASTIC.

Why didn't all of you at that GM event try and take on the warrior?

Teamwork is a skill  ;)

There were 4 strong characters present, the option to team up against the warrior was always available through RP. You all chose to try and take him alone. That was the downfall not because of any armor that was worn. Also one of you got him to 75% with one hit. You were simply blocked due to armor working.  :)
