Historian (Have we discussed this before?)
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:49:56 pm »
I seem to remember never seeing a Historian for PS, and I was wondering if you all needed one. I have several I can nominate, such as Draklar, Under The Moon, etc. and ikkle me.... and more. I think there should also be someone who could say, right books for Planeshift (I'd do it for free, if you trust my writing skills lol.) There are more qualified people, and it would be nice to sit down sometime with a complete history of Yliakum, or just a good book about the world of Planeshift and some of the goings-on there. Like someone could record a GM event in a story-book format and such. Just an idea to consider. I know, flame me. But heck.

[edit]

Anyone with ideas who is reading this first post, please skim to the bottom and post them there.

Draklar isn't around anymore, unfortunately... :> Chances are many who have posted stories in this forum section are neither.

Well, I think people have been writing book-worthy things anyway without the title of "Historian" :] If someone wants to give their character such a rank, they're free to have fun with it. So if this is an endeavor you want to embark on, jump right in!

Ok, Steuben. I shall submit a story for your challenge. I was also considering actually getting Talad to approve my newfound 'position', cause without that approval I'd be walkin on thin air.

There's no need for approval for this.. :} You're not doing anything "risky."

It's fan work, right? Unless your aim is to make this "official" and get it on the website or into the game, there's no issue :]

Well that is partially my aim, thus that is why I am considering it a position.  Now like I said, if there is already someone doing it, then I can resume what I was doing in other posts. writing me little works.

@Steuben
So I just read your rules, I don't suppose i could submit the finished "Teller of Tales" story into it?

In that case you will have to talk to Talad. However, chances are this isn't going to work, because that's what we have members of the Settings team for.

To be honest I'd rather keep dragons out of the Planeshift settings.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

That's what I figured. Anyways, I will write my little history, and it might be done in say....2 years? It will be fairly long. I need more info about the history of Yliakum anyways, so anyone with ideas on it, post here, or pm me. I would still love to be the Historian, but considering you all have talented members anyways..oh well lol. No prob. Soooo. Ideas!

@Parallo

No dragons, dont worry!

Hmmm. Lemme take a look at that. I will consider that. However, I may not be qualified.....Still, Steuben, could I use the finished version of The Teller of Tales in your story competition?
