I haven't seen this covered here, but apologies if I've missed something.  I've been playing for a year or so and have rarely sent a petition.  I've done so a couple of times when something came up over which I really had no control and no other reasonable action after checking documentation and forums.  Sometimes after a couple of hours my petitions just disappear: no action, no response.  Is there a timeout?  I don't mean to whine, I just want to know how it works.  I won't keep resubmitting if it's not a timeout.

 A petition will stay there until some one is free to deal with it, me IF i deal with one, will /tell the playere to say I am looking at it.

A wish was put in quite a bit ago, to give the GM staff the ability to respond to a petition to tell the person that created it, that the petition was being taken care of.

As of right now, the only way to do that, is if the GM looking into it sees that the person that created it is online at the time, they can send them a /tell .

Like everything else, this system will probably be expanded upon in the future as the game's development moves forward.

that makes sense -- so if the petition is a question, no one can answer it if you are off-line at the time.  that explains much,  thanks.
