If you are behind a firewall or router, you may have to open up UDP port 7777. That may help the issue.

Please correct me if im wrong, but if people didnt have the port unblocked, wouldnt they be unable to connect at all?

Sometimes? I'm using a router, but I haven't fiddled with this port and PS connects just fine :] Someone else will have to come and explain that one.

czaja1026: are you running any antivirus software that may interefere? Or on the other hand, have you run any antivirus checks recently to make sure your system is alright? (Not that this may be the issue.)

Can you you describe more about your net freezing? What exactly happens? You lose connection to PS, or you lose connection to your entire modem/cable/ISP?

To expand on what Karyuu has just said, to check if it is a problem connecting to the server:

In the command prompt (in windows go to run on the start menu and type CMD) type 'Ping -t laanx.fragnetics.com' then load up the game and play untill the freeze occurs. If the CMD window now displays:

Code: [Select]
C:\Documents and Settings\Idoru>Ping laanx.fragnetics.com

Pinging laanx.fragnetics.com [210.193.49.103] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Something similar to that, then its a problem with the connection. If it keeps reporting that the replies are coming then its more likely to be a problem with the client disconnecting. the 'Request timed out.' is the key phrase you are looking for, if it is more than a single entry then you may be having issues.

when launching IE .. it says cant find the server check your internet connection o_o'

What is it giving these DCOM exploit warnings? Make sure you have all the security updates from M$ and make sure you have your firewall set-up correctly.

Please read these links;

It seems you have not installed all the updates for your operating system. At least it looks like you are still safe and have blocked all attacks, but you need to UPDATE right away.

Keep a look out for this:
Quote
Blaster/Lovsan Worm or Welchia/Nachi Worm

If you have received a message such as:

"This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. any unsaved changes will be lost. this shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM." or  XP machines may see a message that says: "This system is being shut down in 60 seconds by NT Authority/System due to an interrupted Remote Procedure Call (RAP)."

you are most likely infected with the Blaster Worm that exploits the RPC DCOM vulnerability.

If your computer seems to have slow network response you may have been infected with the Welchia/Nachi Worm.
