Krans hormones

Pretty simple question, do krans have hormones?

I started thinking about it after an ooc discussion ingame about krans having nerves when i thought "of course they do, how do they move if they dont?" That in itself may be wrong if there is another explanation... But hormones?

I would think since they are born of the crystal that they wouldn't really have hormones... i mean do they actually grow or are they born at the size they are now? They would most definitely have nerves to move and think, but you do pose an interesting question. I am no expert but I would have to say no hormones.
"I spend days in this grubby mine, but where am I going? Where did I come from? Hitting a dirt wall is not the way to find out" Soripe stares at his rock pick for a moment "But I won't get very far without tria, better get back to mining" as he swings at the loose dirt in search of gold.

I would think that as they are humanoidal living creatures you can assume they have some kind of analogous system. Something has to trigger the gemmation, for example.

Also, assuming krans dont have blood. How, if they do have hormones would they get round the body? How long would this take if they dont have blood? It can take less than seconds for human hormones but because they have no blood plant hormones take many hours.

I think you are taking the crystalline origin too far. Their skin is like leather, think silicon sealer, so while they do not have blood they must have some kind of circulatory system. It probably isn't iron based as human blood is but I would think it was there anyway.

Silicon-based life is purely theoretical. Nobody really knows the specifics. Which means the devs have full creative license to do what they will...

Yeah sounds like talad is a creationist though. Its hard to see how Kran could possibly have evolved... then the history does say talad (the god) created them... Creationism is somthing i find it hard for me to get my head around. I DO think that it should be feasible for them to exist in some reality rather than "Its that way cos we says it is". I mean surely the simple science should be explainable such as as organs kran have as at the moment all sorts of things are being RPed and it is VERY confusing.

Its a different world. While I can't stand creationism in RL, I accept that it is feasible in PS.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Couldnt agree more, infact, id go as far to say that im offended by the idea of creationism in real life. But (In game) Idoru is perfectly certain that he is created in the image of the god he 'worships' (he doesnt actually worship because his personal feelings on the situation are that Talad wouldnt really care if he was worshiped or not) and as such has no worries about how or why his body does what it does, it just does it.

As for me personally, I would think they have systems analogous to any of a humans body's systems (except presumably reproduction). Unless they function purely driven by magic, which is doubtful because they eat and die the same way everyone else does.

Technically, I don't think it would be physically possible to support both carbon and silicon based life on one world/planet.

But since biological science should only really be in its rudimentary stages right now, it's not really that important how or why Krans function, since we're not even supposed to know, as characters...

But if I cut a kran open... what would i see? What colour liquid would come out, what is in those stony guys? Will different poisons be needed for krans?

What you really should wonder is ... what do PS inhabitants know about such a thing as hormones or nerves?

My answer, nada, nothing, zip, zilch, zero .. and so on.

Science is rudimentary in PS and even if they had any theories the chance that they'd be on the spot or even have the same names for it are very very small.

If your underlying question is that Krans can get moodswings, it's probably safe to assume that they can. :P

Still it would be nice to know what the insides of a kran are like...
