Tavern causes me to disconnect.

The magic shop also causes me to disconnect.  I can stay in them for maybe half a minute at a time before losing my connection with the server.

The problem is mostly with my internet connection.  It's cheap.  But I can stand by Harnquist's shop just fine, and I can go to most places except for the Bronze Fortress map.  The tunnel to the Arena causes me to disconnect sometimes but I'm not there as often so I don't notice it as much.  But the tavern and the magic shop are a sure thing.

I only really care about the Tavern though.

Does anyone know what's causing this and how I can solve it?  Do you need me to give more information?

Sounds like the old particle problem to me ...the fireplace, the waterfall and there is something shimmering in levrus' as well, the snake maybe? Can you stand near the temple flamepots?

Right, but the waterfall was causing my computer to crash, not just to disconnect.  I still disconnect while loading the map except on the rare day when my connection is abnormally good.

I'd love to try out a particle free tavern map if someone is willing and able to make one.

As you suggest, it doesnt sound like the particle system problem to me, I would expect the crashes caused by it to be at least similar. Not a DC from one are and a crash from another.

What kind of DC? server not responding or client disconnect?

I get a disconnect from some spell with the white rising mist, could be related to that I suppose.

What happens is that I notice I can't chat or interact with anything.  I might go to my inventory or buddy list and the info won't load.  System commands stop working as well.  After a minute passes, I get a message saying the server is no longer responding.
