Crime and punishment.
« on: April 01, 2007, 08:15:28 pm »
As many of you know, I have started a 'guild' of victims for evil to prey on, and good to defend, AKA, the Sheeples. http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=28009.0 The problem is, there is no set system of follow-up to the crimes that are committed. This creates troubles and vigilantly style 'justice'. So, in the following, I am going to list crimes that can be committed against the Sheeples, and ask that fair (to the players) fines or punishments be discussed.

Assault: This is any time someone hits a Sheeple (or anyone else who follows the Sheeple Rules of Roleplay [SRoR])

Murder, unprovoked: character walks up and kills a Sheeple for enjoyment (only accepted from very good roleplaying, random duels are ignored or ran from) Note: Sheeples do not return from the DR, so it is a Very serious crime.

Murder, provoked: character is driven to killing a Sheeple by the actions of that Sheeple. (this is unlikely, but possible) Serious crime

Mugging, non-violent: "Give me your money or else"

Mugging, violent: 'Or else' (victim gets beat up with either a duel that does not end in death, or an RP fight)

Mugging then killing.

Killing the criminal as a punishment is NOT an option, as it goes directly against the Settings. What I am looking for are fines to be paid to the Sheeples or non-sheeple victims who follow the SRoR (so they have more to be robbed from them later), loss of weapons used in the crimes (also given to the Sheeples), and IC 'public service'.

These punishments are meant to be RP-able IC, and not punishments to the players doing these things. We -want- people to play 'evil', but we want them to do it well. :)

Well maybe the punishment for the killings could be they have either have 'average punishment' or they have to save the sheeple from the death realm. Obviously the Sheeple wouldn't be very co-operative after having being killed by the said person and a fine would also go along with this on their return. Though that probably goes against the no death rule.
