What is with the dlayo gladiator now? 280 damage, 321 damage, a little excessive isn't it?

Dlayo Gladiator resides in the pvp room now and today he was a one-hit killing machine who took many hits to defeat. I do not know what level of armor skill it takes to survive one of his swings but I don't got it  ;D

Oh no, it's almost as if he has the stats of a regular powerleveller!  Life is so unfair. :'(

Ah had not considered the possibility speech might have been added to his repertoire.

Been there for months, since just after he was added to the game.  When he was added the first thing I tried doing was talk to him.  Lo and behold...

Any of the glads and such can respond minimally, mostly they have nothing to say. I assumed Xillix meant he now has something to say.

and i do i added significantly, alas nothing i do is substantial enough for some, but this guy talks now. Long term goals include greater intelligence for every npc. How to accomplish this?

I do not ever mean to minimize the developers accomplishments as I have a little bit of programming experience and dabbled briefly with computer ai and a project of this size is no mean feat for a hobby project. Coding takes a lot of time unless you are slapping together some crummy VB file tool where all you do is take predefined widgets and slap them in a window. debugging takes longer. At the same time I tend to say what I am thinking and do not always take the time to be diplomatic or even possibly think things through.

I tried to have a chat with him earlier and did not get much more out of him than 'Gladiators are da bomb and mercenaries are da bums.' Of course he was hung up on a corner trying to get at someone who was long gone and that might have kept him from being more verbose. I did not try very long so I'm sure he had more to say if I had come upon the right keywords.

I'm not sure but I think the way to defeat him in a group is take turns shooting him otherwise he is likely to kill at least one and maybe more before he is taken down. With fast and strong weapons it might be possible single handed, indeed I killed him several times a couple days ago but it is my impression he has more hits now or more defense. I am not yet maxed out so that may be a factor too.

Thank you for the responses to that which was not just gratuitous noise in this and other threads.

at this point i would take mulehours rabbithours or cowhours.

The Dlayo hardly spoke at all before and now he does. I do not feel bad that the Dlayo is as strong as some players. More game balace will make this less of an issue in the future, for now he is just intended to occupy those who have no one to duel. Is it a bad thing that there is an npc that is actually a challenge to the hardest hitters? Thank you however for calling attention to it, it may stop people from unknowingly challenging him and griefing about it later.

Ah, that explains why he was able to wreak such havoc when being lured into the plaza a few days ago.

In regards to the Dlayo I think his current strength is suitable, really shows him as the top gladiator, and its realistic, gladiators are supposed to be elite fighters after all... Though my annoyance comes from after I unloaded a ton of fireballs and then slashed him up a bit, I only got 2 pps a fish, and seven trias... I think since the Dlayo is the top gladiator, it should give much more pps and better loot. Currently its pp and loot is equivilant to a common glad. It would be nicer to make tougher npcs more desireable.

Good work none the less!
