Patience is a virtue. I too am a newcomer to PS. Well, I had a little poke round sometime back. I am happy to wait, such is the nature of beta / tech demos.

oningo hates those bugs  . they are stopping a client release  . Looks around and notices the devs at work  . Gets the devs  lot of coffee and flowers  and cheers them on with the debugging  . Then he asks the devs to keep players updated when possible  . Then realises that he has spoken too much  ...so apologises for disturbin the devs  and decides to go sleep  and have good dreams.

Aw wow this totally sucks for me 

I just found out about this game yesterday, registered, downloaded it, and couldn't get on. And so I gotta wait for the new build now? And on top of it all I have to wait and extra few days for the mac version because I run a mac? Damn    What a buzzkill.

do what I did and spent the down time getting setup to compile the client on my MacBook - now I'm ready to go when the ball drops, I can just check out the latest source and I'm a quick "jam -aq -j2 client" from playing.

The server has been restarted with the 0.3.018 version. We decided to postpone the release of 019 to allow engine developers to perform better testing. This phase was taking too much time, and we decided it was better to give you back PlaneShift even if in 018 version! To connect you just need the released 018 client you find in the download page.

- Looks like we get to have another wee chance to play again in the 'old' 018 sandbox!

Some changes have been made, even though the code is the same. Magic users will find their spells more effective now (and the power slider actually works!), and there's been numerous additions and changes by the settings team.

Some exploits were found on the day of the release, and they couldn't be swiftly fixed. This is very unfortunate. Maybe we should've found those bugs earlier, maybe the release shouldn't have happened yet in the first place because of the huge inventory rewrite. Anyway, it won't happen anymore.
