The walls of the city
« on: May 10, 2007, 06:30:55 pm »
I though that people should be able to climb up a small staircase to get to the top of the walls of the city, there could be a whole small decked place along a bit of the walls where there could be lots of NPCs and other cool things. You could put the staircase/steps in a concealed, hidden place so it won't be bussing with newbies. :)

Thanks in advance for all your ideas/comments

Being a simple tester/player (not GM), you can access almost any place in game
(including walls, hills, rooftop, trees, ultics, bottom of waterfall, waterwheel...) There're some 'secret' paths to reach places like the hill behind the windowless tower and the trees in the road to Magic Shop...

The only place I couldn't reach so far is the tower at the Laanx Temple  :(

but fact is you should be able to get on the walls. Because otherwise, what for are the walls? ;P Soldiers should easly and fast be able to get on the wall, hence some stairs to them.

What you can failure tommorow, failure today.

But does Hydlaa have a Massive orc army as Nemesis? Should Hydlaa be a huge fortress?

I dont think they spent the thousands of hours building the walls cause they look perty. It is definatly a defencive structure.

Orcs are piece of cake compared to what lies in the depths of the stone labyrinths.

Well everyone keeps insisting that  cities spend a decent amount of time  fightig of monsters and invasions, infestations and such. Hence the walls in Hydlaa.
In referance to the bronze doors, i;d say if I was basing  monster behaviour off of ingame things, then  you dont need a wall. Jst watch them jump off the waterfall.

Happened before, I'm sure it won't be the last event of that sort ;)
To see the world in a grain of sand
And Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

If you mean the ulbers, wasnt that laanx who spawned them? Not a grand parade of all monsters from the bronze doors :P Give the worriors a chance to head them off before they get to the city.

If your character isn't emplyed by the city as a guard...

Maybe some NPCs should be moved to the walls for decoration, regardless of whether or not players can get up there?

I imagine that once the code is there for it, NPCs will spawn outside of the city and then run along a path which will lead them to the interior if they aren't stopped.
