Hmmpfff, all the new movies about the 2nd world war are boring rip offs, like all the games about it  :-\That's why i like Sci-fi and fantasy and horror much more, they thend to be more original (and YES there are other fantasy movies then cheap LOTR rip off ;) )

The most "new" movie from that list is "The Pianist", from 2002, and more of a drama than of a war movie. I agree that  many of the recent war movies suck. Also "Three Kings" isn't about WW2 ;)

Now that you mentioned Sci-fi, I will, to perhaps provoke the rage of the Star War fans and Trekkies(I hate both series and movies, specially Star Wars :P ), say: Serenity rules! :D

And of course a bad movie(Except if you like gory stuff): Event Horizon

Now, as it was mentioned I would like to know a list of good fantasy movies that aren't LOTR rip-offs(Dungeon & Dragons doesn't count because it isn't a good movie).

It is a movie based on a realistic medieval scenario of the real world, so I don't think it's fantasy(it has no magic, etc.), just medieval.

The least worse until now was "Silent Hill" in my opinion, but as I said, the least worse.

Spider man 3 - Awful, the intent of the movie seemed to be making as many people laugh as possibly during dramatic scenes and then spending tons on Special effects (Which, admittedly, were awesome).

I just saw Spiderman 3 today and thought it was pretty good. The last scene where Spiderman and Harry are fighting against Sandman and Venom is tad silly because apparently the entire poplulation of New York is watching the fight below them.

I can see what u guys are saying....BUT, in the comics those two things really would have happened. Spiderman spends most of his time making witty comments, barbed insults and playful taunts when he fights or does anything of real interest. It's part of the character, and it's funny. That's part of the charm of spidey I think. And in the comics, I get the feeling marvel have issues with new yorkers, because spidey always seems to fall from a fight and land in the middle of a group of citizens ,who apprently were just there watching whatever he was doing at the time. "Hey what's a great hero like Captain America doin with a bum like Spiderman?" "I don't know, I think he saved him when they fell off that roof"
Let it whip!
