Yay! I hope everybody likes this one because i spent about 4 hours on it. I might post the origional (I made a copy and colored the copy) that's in black and white if you guys and girls want.

WOW!!!

The eyes in the foreground character are just beautiful, however I would just lighten the black outline a little (don't get rid of it totally because it wouldn't highlight the eyes).

Also, when I look back at some of your first pictures (page 4 I think), and compare them to what you have just drawn, the difference is just amazing.

Unfortunately (and fortunately), now that you have improved so much in some aspects of your drawing, some other not-so-good aspects show up, and for me it was the pencil lines which were a little too visible. I guess you should just try filling a 10cm square with one colour as uniformly as possible, and making the least lines visible. Once you can do a uniform colour in that square, try adding gradients, from dark to light, from bold to light, or even from one colour to another.

OK now that is geting strange.Everyone (exept Karyu that bully) tells you how much youve improved. And your last post is about how you try to improve almost as if you have to improve for us.So let me ask you this.Did you read the other posts in this thread?
Well if you did then you should know if you just said "Thats it im doing crappy drawings from now on" We would all nod and reply something in the form of "Sure if you want to".
As my favorite comic character once put it "You dont have to come up with something good.Theres no presure for you since they dont expect anything from you." Cruel i know but true.Ok im geting sleepy from writing so i probably started to bable so ill shut up now.
And your doing great kido just keep at it.
If I stand on the axis of the world will you mind if I say that the world revolves around me ?

Hey I'm finally back!  (My parents kept planning "surprise vacations" and didn't tell me until the last minute) I made this over the most recent trip; it's Laanx. I know it's not that great but hey, I was drawing this in the car. Oh well.

Oh and here's a poem I think goes with it (I made the poem myself)

The Hooded One
Who masked beauty
rode the stars
to the path of Dawn
Was Laanx
Talad's twin
Silent
as lightning is silent
before the thunder
of the storm

I really like the dress in the wind, the way it seems to move is very well done except for the lower part at the front, it seems as if it is resting on something. The curve has a little too sharp bend, but at least you got the rippling very well done.

Another comment, what is the story behind the staff? Although some woods have strange ways of growing, I think what you drew is a bit too extravagant near the top, otherwise the rest of the staff is very well done.

Except this, great drawing considering you were in the car, I would perhaps add a few shades (on the ground and her back) but I guess that no shades on the ground add a bit of an ethereal feel to it.

Thank you, Irick. And everybody else too. The staff... :-\ I was actually trying to make a darker form of a staff  (not nescessarily evil mind you) but it was to no avail. Oh well. I'm working on some other stuff too.

I tried making something else today...dunno how it turned out....  :-\
I really need to clean my scanner. It has so many smudges and stuff on it. ( I promise it's not the drawing. I checked.)

for some reason my stupid scanner screwed things up. Again.

Ok, in your latest drawing there are a few things I'd like to comment on in good and bad, and I'll start with the bad stuff.
1. The right part of the upper lip is swollen
2. The left eye seems to be ontop of her face instead of inside it... (especially the left-most point of it)
For the good stuff:
1. Great work on shading!
2. Great work with the hair, it doesn't have clean edges like in your previous drawing which gives a much more real look to it (not saying that your previous drawings are bad at all).
3. The face is fairly well proportioned (a few minor details here and there)
4. Great cheekbones! do you already have your anatomy book? because the cheekbones look really good.
5. Great pose!

I must say that best thing I find about this drawing is that they are no hard lines used, which gives a much more real look. As soon as there are some clean-cut borders, it gives a more cartoonish look, not that it is bad in any ways, it is just a different style.

Atta girl :) I've no doubts you will - I love the determination.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

your sketches are good but only from an amator point of view. what i mean is that you lack a certain technique for making the sketches, you just eyeball all the elements and this is why you have anatomy problems, and a lack of depth. try studying the human anatomy, and proportions, and read some tutorial or something. i warmly recommend you to read any f andrew loomis's books. here's a link about the guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Loomis
he's a true pro, or master if you prefer, and he seems to be a great teacher.
