severe midlife crisis
« on: June 01, 2007, 01:25:40 am »
Hi, first of all, great game. I am really impressed by all the great work you have done and i hope and i am confident, that it will get even better soon.
My Problem:
My  Charackter suffers a severe mental crisis when ever fighting. The mental stamina just drops down to zero as soon as I fight anything bigger than a rat. While other stats are ok, she just hasn't got the right stuff, I don't know. Maybe it is because she is dump as a mule (Intillegigence 39) or because I died a couple of times, though I didn't find anything in the guides that would point to such an effect (loss of confidence because of dying?). I would really like to keep playing with this charackter but right now I don't survive any fight because she get's depressed soooooo fast....
Are there any antipsychotics available or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help :woot:

Mental stamina is directly related to the Will stat. It will drop whenever you perform mining, crafting or wield a weapon in combat and probably some other things.

To avoid becoming tired, train up your will or use your bare hands while fighting, those don't influence your mental stamina.

ok thanks,

ii have been training a bit and fighting very offensiv seems to help, though i find it kind of frustrating, that i can't fight defensivily, that way wearing down the more advanced opponents. Because i can't fight them on aggrassive mode. But I am getting there, just have to kill lots and lots of rats and train etc..

While fighting in a bloody stance your character ignores that it's tired and will keep going .. but you can't use more defensive stances until you recuperate, no.

No You character doesn't 'think' of defensive moves... it's about 'mental stamina' ;)
it drops quickly when you defend because you have to 'think' much more you have to avoid and fight, bloody stance is just fight and 'don't care about me loosing a leg or arm' ;)
