i can walk into a object !?
« on: June 18, 2007, 06:03:03 am »
Hello~

1. I create a box map, by blender and export it into planeshift, and it is fine.
2. Then i create a object(apple) in that box map and export it again, it is still fine.
3. I try to import a object(apple) which is created by other 3D maker(LightWare), and put the object in the map and export it just like the step 2. However when test it in my planeshift i can walk into that apple.

How can i fix it?
Should make something format change in the blender for that object?

i can only guess

are the normals pointing the right direction?

the apple that is working... how did you model it?
did you do anything special you may have missed with the other one?

if you don't have an idea, can you provide the .blend?

i think my apple didi not point to the right direction
But how can i change it?

If i create a box and scale it to make the box become a map, is the point of that box point into "inside", so i cannot walk out the box?

However when i craete a small box(object), in that box map, the point of the box is point "outside", so that i can not walk in that small box(box) is it?

I don't do any thing for the point direction, how can belder know the point is "iinsude" or "outside"?

i don't have the .blend now, i will provide it later!

In edit mode find and push button "Draw Normals":

Input box NSize allows to change length of "arrows" showing direction in which faces are... facing  :).

In edit mode select all faces and press CTRL-N or SHIFT-CTRL-N to recalculate normals outside or inside.

I recommend You visit http://wiki.blender.org/ (for example) :).
