Character Models

What are the 3D character models that the newest client has? I just downloaded PlaneShift 0.3.018 this week, but the updater isn't working. When I read the other topics, I learned that it wasn't supposed to work, so I doubt that's what's going on. I wanted a female elf, but it says those aren't available. Is that right?

The model for the female elf isn't available yet, so it uses the female Ynnwn instead. If any character models are missing, another is used in its place: male Lemur uses male Dermorian, female Ylian uses female Ynnwn, etc. So you can still choose any race and gender you want, but they will use another race's graphics for now.

Eh but when the models are made is your character model going to change according to your proper race and gender?

Yes, when new models become available your character will simply begin using the proper one. It will require no work on your end.

So some races aren't finished yet, is that correct? If so, I still have trouble picking my gender though. So I click on one of the human races and pick my gender from there?

However, even the game won't allow me to pick my race

What exactly are you clicking when you try to pick your race?

On a similar note, for those of us using a race for which the models are not available, what will happen once the models are uploaded? I know that we'll start using the right character models, but will we have any influence over how our character looks? I created a Xacha, but I couldn't edit my character's appearance because I had to use the model for a different race. When the Xacha character models are uploaded, will I be able to choose what my character looks like, or will I be stuck with a generic model?
