A large sandspider would also be a cool addition and it could have interesting attacks. For example it could shoot web at you to slow or stick you to the spot (this move could be very annoying when trying to run away from one). A giant centipede would be another intriging monster, and one could draw holes for it and even enable the centipede to dib intl the earth. Look at the African centipedes that can be found in a few deserts for inspiration. :)

I like these ideas and the work alot.
But I'd like to suggest something, if I may.
The "Dry" or "landbased" sand monsters are fine, but I'd like to see some more ideas for aquatic sand beasts.
Look up some sea creatures, there's plenty of existing sea creatures that live on the bottom on earth that would be absolutely terrifying to run into.
Sand worms give me the creeps.

(I'm asking this because the idea of playing the water breathing race and exploring interests me, as I think those could be the most interesting areas/ecologies).
Take what you want from my post as your own, critique it, improve it,  and feel free to use it.

I agree with what you said Lurkmost about there beeing freaky animals at the bottom of the sea. The thing is millions of years ago there were tons of freaky animals in the sea that might be a great inspiration, especially since they have adapted to living in no light and this may be the light conditions in much of the caves in planeshift.
