Fragnetics server failed ;)

Hello all,

yes i'm yet another one of those having trouble connecting to the server.

From what i read port 7777 needs to be opened, only the direction is not mentioned. Is it port 7777 from the client to the server, from server to client or both?
Also i'd like to have either the server's url or it's ip adress in order to test connectivity directly...

I guess these two info's could also interest a lot of other players having connectivity problems & should be mentioned in a sticky topic and in the FAQ.

I'm glad you mention that as i'm just finishing to download 019 version from bitorrent (not too bad in 30min).  The one i installed earlier today was 018 & the updater reported there was no new version...

Should i uninstall the verion version before launching the 019 install?

Definitely make sure you install .019 cleanly - with no previous version remaining on your computer.

hmmmmmk  X-/  same thing is happening to me, it says that frgnetics has fails=d  :o........ so what do I need to do to keep playing?  :@#\

And btw i have vershion 0.18 and where can i down load 0.19?

go for the torrents then mirrors if torrent doesn't work for you. though make sure that the file that you download from the mirrors has 3.19 at the end. there has been some trouble in the past with some mirrors having old versions.

An update on the issue... after installing .019 there was still no connection to the server & despite the very user-friendly linux-based installer the shortcuts didn't make it to the start menu. This is on PCLinuxOS, luckily i chose to create desktop shortcuts too and those were present.

Opening the 7777 UDP port on my wifi router's firewall did solve the connectivity issue, and the game runs fine :D
All i have to do now is learn how to progress in the game.
