Ever write a post that seems like an infomercial?
Right, take two.
I've been drawn back into writing lately. The urge to create characters and have them kill each other has been growing exponentially. Now, when it comes to writing, there are a couple things I've noticed. 1) I'm terrible at writing posts like these and 2) I'm easily distracted.
I imagine most people are when they try to write directly onto the computer. Whether by PlaneShift, IRC or some very annoying paperclip. Which is why I went a-hunting.
Anyways, long story short. I found
Dark Room, which is a very ironic name for an app that helps you write considering it's bloody hard to write in a dark room. All that aside, it's a wondrous app that helps you focus on writing and not get distracted by those annoying whelps on IRC.
It is, above all, simple. It's there for writing and nothing else. Try it out, you might like it.

If you are on Mac, then there are half a dozen apps for you,
writeroom being the best known.
