Laanx artfact quest broken

I got this quest for sharven, before when I told him the answer to the riddle it worked and the when he asked me if I would him him he said that the number is not correct so i ask for some help I was told he need a certien item so I went to get the said item and went back to sharven,but now when I tell him the answer to the riddle he dont understand me am I doing something wroung are is this quest broken any help would be nice i dont want to spoil anything and I hope that I didnt im new to the game but Im try my best

This quest is working, though it can be challenging to complete.  If you are still stuck, I recommend that you have your character talk with other player characters about the task to be completed. Someone who has done the quest before may be able to offer a tip on how best to communicate with Sharven.

I had smeone that did the quest helping me  he was the one that told me to get the certien items i need for the quest,beofore all that happened with the item when I would tell him the answer it would tell me that the spell was to complx for me to reounnice,and when he would as me if i would help him after i gave him the answer when i would say yes it would do the same thing over and aver again about the numbers then he would say oh no that not correct what can i do to fix this I dont want to stop this quest I have done all of my quest sofor should i drop the items before i go and talk to him again
