Uninstall at your own peril!
« on: July 29, 2007, 12:56:27 am »
I just did a test install of PS and tried uninstalling... and it wiped my /opt (as root user) dir as well as my PS dir. I'm not sure why it did this, but for now it's probably safe if you just delete the PlaneShift dir manually and don't use the uninstaller. I don't want anyone to lose anything important ;)

Maybe it's related to the installer itself? Like the folder /opt was not on my machine by default, the installer created this folder for me, so probably everything that was installed by the installer, gets removed by uninstalling aswell? Just an idea though.

*edit* Thanks for the information, by the way :-)

I'm really not sure. Maybe it only removes it if it's empy? Or maybe it didn't exist for me either and that's why it removed it. I'll do a bit more testing (hopefully that's the reason).

I tried uninstalling and it only removed the Planeshift dir. It did not delete /opt
